Overview
Playa Blanca sits at Lanzarote’s southern tip, noticeably quieter and more upmarket than Puerto del Carmen, built around a modern marina (Marina Rubicón) with ferries running across to Corralejo on Fuerteventura. It’s grown a lot in recent years but has kept a calmer, more family-and-couples feel.
Families & toddlers
Playa Dorada and Playa Flamingo are attractive, sheltered beaches with calm water, and the marina area has a good range of family restaurants. It’s an easy, low-stress base for families who don’t want the size and pace of Puerto del Carmen.
Couples, teens & nightlife
Marina Rubicón’s restaurants and bars make for pleasant, relaxed evenings rather than a big nightlife scene — this is a resort built more around long dinners by the boats than late clubbing, which suits couples well.
Seniors & accessibility
Flat, modern and easy to get around, with a genuinely pleasant marina promenade — one of the more comfortable southern-Lanzarote bases for older visitors.
Best time to visit
Mild and dry through the year, same as the rest of Lanzarote — a genuine winter-sun option.
