This page explains the cookies and similar technologies (like browser local storage) that holidaysave.co.uk uses, and why.
The cookie banner
When you first visit, a banner lets you choose “Accept all” or “Reject non-essential”. Nothing but strictly necessary cookies is set until you choose, and your choice is remembered for 180 days (in a cookie called hs_cookie_choice) so you’re not asked again on every visit. To change your mind, clear your browser’s cookies for this site and the banner will reappear.
Strictly necessary cookies
A small set of cookies (named wp_consent_*) record your cookie choice itself, so the site knows not to show the banner again or to respect a “reject” choice on your next page view. These are set regardless of your choice, since they exist to remember that choice.
Analytics cookies (only if you accept)
If you accept, we use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand site usage. This sets cookies (such as those beginning _ga) that help Google Analytics distinguish visitors and sessions. If you reject, these are never set: Google’s own Consent Mode keeps Analytics from writing anything until you say yes. See Google’s own policy for details of what Google does with this data.
Marketing cookies (only if you accept)
If you accept, we load a Travelpayouts script that supports the affiliate partnerships funding this site; it may set its own cookies. If you reject, this script is never loaded.
Affiliate click-through cookies (not controlled by our banner)
When you click a link to one of our booking partners (including anything in the Travelpayouts network, or our booking partner at booking.holidaysave.co.uk), you leave this site, and that partner’s own site may set its own cookie so a resulting booking can be correctly credited to HolidaySave. This is how we earn a commission at no extra cost to you. It happens on their site, not ours, so our cookie banner doesn’t cover it; see that partner’s own cookie policy for details.
Local storage (not a cookie, but similar)
Your chosen display currency (the small selector shown on every page) is remembered using your browser’s local storage rather than a cookie. This stays on your device, is never sent to us, and contains no personal information; it isn’t affected by the cookie banner.
