Resort Guides › Spain › Costa del Sol
A long, relaxed family beach resort with a zoo and water park on its doorstep.
Overview
Fuengirola is a large, long-established resort with a long sandy beach and a strong, longstanding Nordic and British expat community, giving it good year-round infrastructure alongside its holiday trade. It’s generally calmer than Torremolinos, its neighbour up the coast.
Families & toddlers
Bioparc Fuengirola (an unusually well-regarded, naturalistic zoo) and Aqualand water park are both right here, alongside a long, well-equipped beach — a strong, straightforward choice for family holidays.
Couples, teens & nightlife
A relaxed, unpretentious range of restaurants and bars along the seafront rather than a big nightlife scene — pleasant evenings rather than late clubbing.
Seniors & accessibility
Flat, easy to get around, and well set up for longer stays thanks to its established resident community — a popular, comfortable choice for older visitors.
Best time to visit
Mild winters make this a genuine longer-stay winter option as well as a summer beach resort.
