Resort Guides › Turkey › Marmaris Coast
A big, lively Turquoise Coast resort with a large marina and a famous bar strip.
Overview
Marmaris is one of Turkey’s largest and best-known resorts, built around a big marina and a long promenade, with “Bar Street” as one of the most concentrated nightlife strips on this stretch of coast, alongside quieter family areas further along the bay.
Families & toddlers
The main beach and promenade are well equipped with facilities, and boat trips around the bay’s coves (a popular local day-trip format) are an easy, enjoyable family activity.
Couples, teens & nightlife
Bar Street is a genuinely big, lively nightlife strip aimed largely at younger visitors; couples wanting calmer evenings tend to base themselves toward the marina end of the resort instead.
Seniors & accessibility
The marina promenade is flat and pleasant; picking accommodation away from Bar Street makes this a workable base for older visitors too.
Best time to visit
May to October for reliable beach weather; nightlife is busiest June to September.
