Malaga

Iberian Twin City

Spain and Portugal sit right next to each other but feel genuinely different city to city. Here’s a real, currently-live pairing across the two.

A rough 6-10-day shape: Malaga + Alicante. Swap the day split to suit you, every leg below links to its own live fare and booking page.

Malaga

Days 1-5

Malaga

Malaga has a real Andalusian old town behind its beach-resort reputation, Picasso’s birthplace, a Moorish Alcazaba fortress, and a genuinely good tapas scene.

**Nearby and worth it:** the whitewashed hill town of Ronda and the Caminito del Rey gorge walk are both popular day trips from the Costa del Sol.

Alicante

Days 6-10

Alicante

Alicante mixes a hilltop castle (Santa Barbara, with sweeping Mediterranean views), a palm-lined old town, and a proper city beach right in the centre.

**Nearby and worth it:** Benidorm and the Costa Blanca’s beach towns are all within an hour, making Alicante a good base for the whole coast.
