Resort Guides › Cyprus › Cyprus
Cyprus’s best-known nightlife resort, with genuinely excellent beaches too.
Overview
Ayia Napa is Cyprus’s best-known resort for young-adult nightlife, centred on a dense strip of bars and clubs around the town square — but it also has some of the island’s best sandy beaches, including the well-regarded Nissi Beach, giving it real range beyond its party reputation.
Families & toddlers
Nissi Beach and Makronissos Beach are both excellent, well-equipped sandy beaches, and family hotels tend to sit away from the central square’s nightlife strip.
Couples, teens & nightlife
The square is genuinely one of the busiest young-adult nightlife destinations in the Mediterranean; couples wanting calm should base themselves toward Nissi Beach or consider Protaras along the coast instead.
Seniors & accessibility
Not a natural fit for the central square; the Nissi Beach end of the resort is calmer and more workable for older visitors.
Best time to visit
May to October for the beach; nightlife is busiest June to September.
