Buġibba and Qawra form Malta’s main purpose-built package-resort area, on the north side of the island, with a long seafront promenade, a good spread of family hotels, and easy access to the National Aquarium and several water parks nearby.

The seafront has rocky and small sandy swimming spots plus lido-style pool complexes at several hotels, and the National Aquarium and nearby Splash & Fun water park make for easy add-on family days.

A straightforward, unpretentious range of bars and restaurants along the promenade rather than a big nightlife scene — pleasant, relaxed evenings suited to families and couples alike.

The long seafront promenade is flat and easy, and the resort’s pace is generally gentler than St Julian’s — a comfortable, straightforward base for older visitors.
