Overview
Hersonissos (Chersonissos) is one of Crete’s largest package resorts, with a long beachfront, a well-known nightlife strip, and enough scale to comfortably serve both young-adult nightlife visitors and families in different parts of the same resort.
Families & toddlers
Star Beach water park and several well-equipped sandy beaches make this a strong all-round family choice, with plenty of family-oriented restaurants and activities along the front.
Couples, teens & nightlife
A genuinely busy nightlife strip in peak season, popular with young adults; couples wanting something calmer tend to base themselves toward the quieter eastern end of the resort.
Seniors & accessibility
The seafront is mostly flat and walkable; picking accommodation away from the busiest nightlife strip makes this workable for older visitors too.
Best time to visit
May to October for the beach; nightlife is busiest June to September.
