Palmanova sits right next to Magaluf but has a noticeably calmer, more family-oriented feel, with a wide, sheltered bay beach and a more mixed-age crowd of hotels and apartments.

May to October for the beach; close enough to Palma for a good shoulder-season city-and-beach combination too.
